This week’s blog post will be covering Cabinet Panel Design, a new addition to the Solid Edge electrical wiring design portfolio that enables the fast creation of accurate 2D layouts of industrial control panels.

Cabinet panel design is a functionality within Solid Edge Wiring Design. With cabinet panel design, you can accurately create physical layouts and schematic drawings for 2D industrial control panels. This includes a configurable and reusable layout design capability that allows the reuse of schematic intelligence to generate panel layout.

Solid Edge Wiring Design is an electromechanical solution that enables data to flow seamlessly between the 2D schematic capture application and 3D MCAD domains, allowing teams to understand and trace the impact of design decisions across domains.

Solid Edge Wiring Design automates standards-based diagram generation and cross-referencing for multi-sheet schematics, and automatically generates reports for wires, connectors and devices used in a design. Design challenges such as short and open circuits, voltage drop, fusing and wire sizing errors are highlighted by simulation as a design proceeds.
