Last Thursday marked a great day at Solid Edge University in Cincinnati, as Siemens’ global series continued its tour around the U.S. and the world. PROLIM PLM joined Siemens, along with local Solid Edge users and managers, to add up to around 100 attendees!
After Prashant Kulkarni kicked things off to begin the morning, Aditya Gurushankar, who manages Solid Edge Planning and Product Design, introduced Solid Edge 2019 to the crowd. He demonstrated the power of Solid Edge’s rendering tools, showing multiple parts on the screen. He asked the audience to determine which ones were real and which were rendered. Trick question, as the audience was fooled: All products were rendered in Solid Edge!
Mark Thompson then took the stage to demonstrate the power of Next Generation Design. His presentation covered Generative Design, Convergent Modeling, and Synchronous Modeling.
Then PROLIM’s Solid Edge Application Engineer, Ben Weisenberger, shared insights on managing CAD data and collaboration. He covered the Solid Edge Portal, which is a way to collaborate on designs with your team. The Portal offers a secure, web-based platform for storing and viewing the contents of your 3D CAD files and drawings, and for sharing your project files with others.
Jon Coulter and Anushka Kalicharan wrapped up Solid Edge University with presentations on FloEFD and Solid Edge Electrical, respectively.
After the conference, PROLIM hosted customers, attendees and Siemens employees for an evening of fun and food at Topgolf in West Chester!
