This course covers using Solid Edge modeling functions to build free form surfaces. Free form surfaces are those that cannot be constructed using standard solid modeling features. This includes creating bspline curves and other developed curves, building surfaces through one or more sets of curves, sweeping profiles along guides, and applying surface transition between faces. Learn the workflows and modeling tools that make you more productive in creating surface models. The instructor will introduce areas of focus for each modeling workflow and then reinforce this topic with well-designed lab exercises.
Solid Edge Surfacing
A Solid Edge Surfacing Student Guide along with data set will be provided on USB Drive.
Students will have improved their overall Solid Edge surface modeling skills. They will have learned the finer points of curve creation, learned to create simple and complex surfaces, learned to edit curves to produce the desired surface and learned to combine and manipulate surfaces to build a surface model. Overall, the student will be able to show an increase in productivity by more efficient use of Solid Edge thus reducing the design cycle time.
Potential students should have or completed the following prior to the class:
- Completion of the Solid Edge Fundamentals course
- Basic understanding of parametric modeling.
- Basic understanding of profile/sketch construction.

Attendee must cancel 10 business days prior to the class start date in order to receive a full refund. Cancellation requests that are received 5-10 business days prior to the class start date will result in a credit towards a future scheduled training within 12 months of the original course. Cancellations made 4 or less business days prior to the training start date or failure to appear will result in forfeiture of the course fee or an additional fee of $250 will be charged to attend a future training class within 12 months of original training.
Students registered for classes that have 2 or fewer attendees may be required to join the next scheduled class. Students will be notified of this situation a few days in advance.
Rescheduling is allowed on a one time basis only. If you do not attend within 12 months of the original training date, the entire course fee will be forfeited.
